Flooring Systems

Acoustic comfort and moisture protection are critical for modern flooring installations.

Sekisui Foam Australia's Softlon Tuff represents the pinnacle of underlay technology, achieving an impressive FIIC 57 rating that exceeds Building Code Australia requirements for impact sound insulation in multi-storey construction. Our physically cross-linked polyolefin foam combines acoustic performance with an integrated moisture barrier, eliminating the need for separate vapour barriers while ensuring long-term floor stability.

Our twin-skin technology, made possible through electron beam cross-linking, creates a unique structure that effectively absorbs subfloor irregularities while maintaining consistent support across the entire floor area. With ball drop resistance of 1700mm and compression strength of 60 kPa at just 0.5mm deflection, Softlon Tuff provides three times the minimum strength required to prevent damage to tongue-and-groove assemblies under load.

Beyond performance metrics, our flooring solutions offer practical installation advantages. The 2mm optimised thickness provides maximum acoustic benefit without creating height transition issues, while the 1000mm width and 50m roll length provide efficient coverage of 50m² per roll. The material can be walked on during installation, speeding up project completion while maintaining the integrity of the moisture barrier.
